Location - El Capitan Agriculture Department

El Capitan High School invited a variety of Elementary Schools to come and view our Agriculture Department. The elementary students are split up into 5 rotations consisting of a tractor ride, classroom activity, barn games, petting zoo, and dirt cups. The tractor ride takes place in the rodeo parking lot starting with safety rules and ending off with a class photo of everybody on the tractor. The classroom activity varies on grade level last year our kinder through second created paper plate animals, while our third through fifth created seed gloves. Also depending on if the students do the same activities as last year but most likely will be changed so they experience new activities. The students will than head out to our lamb barn to play a variety of games and learn some roping skills. Continuing onto the petting which happens in the pig arena, we display our students steers, some lambs, pigs, and chickens. The elementary students take turns viewing and petting each animal while learning facts about them. Lastly to finish off their rotations the students get to enjoy a sweet treat being dirt cups while also enjoying games of corn hole.
