Chapter President | Megan Castanos | Hi, my name is Megan Castanos and I am your 2021-2022 chapter president. This year I am a senior and have raised and shown 4 market pigs for the fair and market beef. I started my FFA journey at Lakeside middle school and helped start the chapter. I have done opening and closing the past 4 years and I'm also on the meats judging team. |
Chapter Vice President | Monica Ferris | Hi my name is Monica Ferris, I am currently a senior at El Capitan High School and this year I am serving as the chapter Vice President. This is my 5th year in FFA and my SAE projects are market steers, market swine along with doing an oat hay field. Throughout my years in FFA so far I have participated in opening and closing all three years, parliamentary procedure for a year and the livestock judging team. My hobbies outside of FFA include traveling California and Arizona jackpoting swine with my show team and steers. The past 2 years at the Eastern San Diego County Fair I have won grand champion market beef, 1st in beef showmanship this year, Supreme Champion beef, 3rd in swine showmanship this year and at the San Diego County Junior Fair I won 2nd in Advanced FFA swine showmanship |

I started out at Lakeside Middle School and I was the President there two years ago. I have competed in Opening and Closing, Agriscience, Parli Pro, Creed Speaking and I am on the meats judging team. I've also raised two market hogs and a pen of broilers for East County and one hog for Del Mar. I´ve shown and got second place in Novice Master Showmanship and won Novice Round Robin. Chapter Secretary | Madison Nichols | My name is Madison Nichols, I am currently attending El Capitan High School as a senior. I am serving as this year's 2021-2022 chapter Secretary. This will be my 5th year as an FFA member, as my journey started at Lakeside Middle, serving as the chapter's first Sentinel. Over my last four years at El Capitan, I have raised a wide variety of animals like swine, lambs, and steers. I have been on the Farm records and livestock judging team ,the parliamentary procedure team, and was a lamb barn manager. I am looking forward to a fun and eventful year and can't wait for what is to come! |
Chapter Historian | Annallie Chavez | Hello, my name is Annallie Chavez, and I am EL Capitan's chapter historian. In middle school, Lakeside Middle school, I did agriscience about water lettuce. In my freshman year I shown chickens as my project. Over the summer I did an internship for El Cap's swines. This year, I hope to show pigs at the Del Mar fair and some smaller fairs by the school. I am looking forward to this year now that I can do so much more! |
Chapter Treasurer | Spencer Abramson | My name is Spencer Abramson and I am your 2021-2022 Chapter Treasurer. I am now a junior and have been a part of the FFA for coming up on three years. I have raised two market hogs and completed a shop project for our Junior Fair. I served as a delegate for our chapter last year. I hope to have a great year full of activities! |
Chapter Sentinel | Christian Munteanu | My name is Christian Munteanu and I am currently a Junior at El Capitan. I am serving as this year's 2021-2022 Chapter Sentinel. I have been doing agriculture since 6th grade and in my 8th-grade year, I was the Chapter Secretary. I did an agriscience project in my 7th-grade year and showed a rabbit my 8th-grade year, and in high school, I showed a market pig. I am on the meats judging team so far, but I hope to join more judging teams as the year continues. I've attended different competitions and events, the events I attended are State Convention, Indio Conference, Section Conference, Opening and Closing, and different Chapter events. I am looking forward to attending all the different events, competitions, meeting others, and I hope that everyone will have fun this year too! |
